Simple Pleasures

Strawberry season has arrived here in Middle Tennessee.
Handpick your own, or buy by the basketful.
When I was a young girl, I was allergic to fresh strawberries.
Thank goodness, I outgrew that sensitivity.

Those strawberries look divine!! I tried to grow some once, they never really took off but that can be a result of my none green thumb but let me just say, even though they were small and tiny they had more flavor than those from the store. I gave up trying to grow them but I have some pretty remarkable raspberry bushes that don't require much from me. It's a way better relationship than the one I had with the strawberries haha. I'm glad you aren't allergic to them, that would be so tragic not being able to eat such a wonderful tasty berry!.
Have a great week,
Saimi

We love strawberries. I will have to add them to our garden next year.

Our strawberries haven't even got blossoms on them yet. It seems early to me, but you are in a different part of the country. :-)

Oh those look delicious. I'm glad you grew out of the allergy to them! I have tried growing them here without success. Perhaps I will try to get some growing in one of my macrame hangers!

Fresh picked are far more delicious. We are enjoying strawberries at the moment too. Just supermarket bought but full of flavour

I agree, the simple things are the most enjoyable and what we most look forward to.

When I was younger, I picked my own and made jam every year.
On a sour note, nowadays, I'd be checking on their use of pesticides.

Strawberries, those will be midsummer here. The ice has just gone from the front and today will be 80, already too hot for me. Was out first thing this morning and thats about it for today

They are so beautiful and look tasty too. We had a strawberry, coconut, pineapple pie at a cafe. It was good with lots of topping on it.
