Done And Dusted

The Christmas decorations have all been returned to their boxes for another year.
The house seems bare without all of the glitz and glamor, isn't it funny how you become used to the excess, in such a short time.
Shiny mercury candle holders and fairy lights are left in place, until the sunshine returns.
Hopefully, that won't be too long.

It's always sad to me with all the Christmas things disappear. The magic seems to go with them and ordinary life returns. Of course it is always good to have a fresh start and get things ready for the lovely Spring weather ahead.

It does seem like company has all gone home. I haven't started yet but I will go slow as I am the only one that takes it down.

Wonderful Christmas scenes all gathered together in one. Lovely! :-)

It does seem a little sad after all the pretty Christmas things are put away. This gloomy cold weather doesn't help matters any. A few sunny work days would be good.

I agree that taking down Christmas is sad... so we do it gradually. Start a day or so after New Year's... and usually all done by the following week. This year with all the frigid weather, we can all use the Christmas cheer a little longer.

Almost the same here.

Please say you didn't pack Oliver away with those lovely Christmas things! Love his hat.

I'm a traditionalist, my stuff doesn't come down until twelfth night. I like to get a good return after the hard work of putting it all up!

It does look bare without the tree & the lights. I might see if I can put the lights up in the conservatory for summer evenings although it doesn't get dark until about 11pm mid summer I still like them. Roll on spring!!!!!

Because I've been ill and we were in the States I'm only just now putting all the Christmas decorations away. The house really does look dull and bare without them.
