Tales of a British expat, transplanted into the lush Tennessee countryside.
I just got home from a rainy trip to the Y, and I've got a dentist appointment later on today. I'll take the time I've got in between to relax like you. Those scones look delicious. :-)
I ADORE these kinds of days. Few and far between. Days when there is NOTHING on the schedule from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same. Sigh......
Love your blue and white teaset!Great time...
Simple days are the best especially with a nice piping hot cup of tea.
There will be a few of those this winter here, too. Lovely tea-set.
I love days like that too, but they don't come that often and I have to tell myself not to feel guilty. Winter is coming so hope to enjoy some down time reading or doing more needlework.
Those kind of days are the best!Blessings~
From the Manitoba Interlake, Canada: I've awaken to the first blizzard of the year. I mixed the pigs mash with hot water and gave heated water to the hens, who deign to come out of their coop. The rabbits, having their own building are snug & content. The cattle and horses were all standing up near the barnyard, hoping for hay, which they got. Until it's time for mid-day chores, I am staying well & warm with a roaring fire INside my country home. I could sure go for one of those yum looking scones....
I was so happy to wake up to rain yesterday. The perfect excuse to do nothing and a blessing because we had just spent 4 days with our son and our 5 year old granddaughter and I am exhausted. Saturday evening as we were painting, reading and playing with play doh, I asked her if she ever just sat and did nothing? She very calmly replied, "My goodness, no. Why would I ever do that?" Yesterday I decided to do just that -- nothing.
And scones. I really like blue willow dishes. It is like sitting and eating from a different time in history. We don't have all the other pieces but just basic plates and cups.
