Heat-Lover

The Crepe Myrtle bush is in full bloom, it's flowers will put on this show for the better part of a month.
The bees and Hummingbirds are drawn to it's huge Watermelon Red blooms.
It loves the summer heat, I have offered it my portion.

Beautiful Crepe Myrtles!
I was at Lowes yesterday, and in their garden center were the reddest red of any Crepe Myrtles I have ever seen. Wow! But I have no space to put them.
And they had Phlox named Bright Eyes. I may have to go back and get a pot of them. I could squeeze them in somewhere!
Have a great day!

It's really beautiful, Jo. I associate crepe myrtle with very hot climates. I guess it needs the heat to thrive. :-)

That's a beauty! Wish we had the climate to grow this.

The Crepe Myrtle, like everything you grow, is exceptional. It is beautiful!! I think beauty follows you around because you are such a beauty. Seeing your Crepe Myrtle makes me want to find a sunny spot somewhere in this yard to plant one. Think I will do just that!

They are gorgeous. I am enjoying seeing all the different colors people have. I have only two miniature ones.

Your crepe myrtles are gorgeous. We have white ones out front and they are blooming too... but nothing like yours.

I adore crepe myrtles! They look gorgeous every season of the year, but those blooms!! They are so pretty.

Beautiful crepe myrtles. I have only two of them in my front yard. They seem to be the same color as yours. I would like to have a lot more of them in my yard. They are the only plants looking pretty after last week's 100 107 degree heat wave. I think that is the happiest color pink.

I don't think I've ever seen a Crepe Myrtle. It's an amazing shrub! But doesn't grow this far north.

What a show off Crepe Myrtle is!

It really is an outstanding bloomer. I don't know much about this shrub as I bet it would freeze up with our winters. The colors of that one is really great to see.

I recently cut back a huge overgrown crepe myrtle. Totally the wrong time of the year I know but it didn't seem to mind. I couldn't bring myself to throw the clippings onto the burn pile. Some were as big as my arm. So I lay them out on our driveway the way I wanted and my husband made a very unique trellis . He stood there shaking his head and I told him to get over it because people pay big bucks for unique things for their gardens. I love it and so does the rose already growing on it.
