Strawberry Season

Strawberry season has arrived here in Middle Tennessee.
Handpick your own, or buy by the basketful.
When I was a young girl, I was allergic to fresh strawberries.
Thank goodness, I outgrew that sensitivity.

I have heard that strawberries are ripening here in Virginia. I must get me some. Love those things.

Oh, that big fat berry on the vine is just beautiful! Our strawberry picking month is June!

Wow! They are huge. I noticed yesterday, working in my garden, that my strawberries are just now beginning to flower. They are a long way from ripe! :-)

I hear the white ones are especially flavorful.

Mmm they look delicious. My favourites are the Scottish ones but there's a while to go before they'll be ready. I just don't like the imported ones so I'll wait, though not so patiently.

It's wonderful you outgrew that allergy, as we sometimes do. I was allergic for many years to some of my favorite things: cucumbers and melons. Then I was able to eat them again. Thank goodness - I had to forego my favourite tea sandwiches during those years!
