Making A Start

The Christmas decorating has begun.
A little here, a little there, and before you know it, the house is transformed with the magic of Christmas.
Later this evening, the tree will get decorated, sparkly faerie lights, dried apples and orange slices, baubles and red wooden-bead garlands.
Rust-colored Christmas bells, and  grape-vine mini wreaths.
Ornaments from seasons past,  reminding of treasured memories.

The hearth is lit, and the hot chocolate is simmering.
Two portly felines watch with interest.
"Tis the season.

Ah! How inviting!
It's a "little here, a little there" here, too.
Personally can't quite get it organized and don't have a master plan, so.....
Traditional Christmas music and candles round out my simple and staggered attempts at decorating this year.

We started decorating today too. Your pictures evoke feelings of warmth and comfort, I do love Christmas xx

Oh, how inviting. Have fun tonight with your tree. I hope the portly ones only show a little interest. ;-)

Although (sadly) we have turned to an artificial tree, after years and years of cutting down our own, we still "put up" the tree according to the schedule of old. We'd cut it down mid-December and leave it up until the needles begged us to tote it to the backyard for the birds, usually mid-January.

Still on that cycle, so ours won't go up for another week or so.

It all looks so great already. Our first tree went up tonight but we need to pick up the pace as we have a lot left to do. I know how it is as the pets watch in amazement.

I have put a little artificial tree out on the lanai for the cats :)
I have nothing in the house yet. Christmas trees in Florida don't last long and cats and Christmas trees last even less time. So I am going with decorations that don't have pine needles I guess.

This year I have a tiny artificial tree and a lot of other sorts of decorations, like a large hurricane lamp (glass) full of the tiny lights that you put on a tree .. it sits on a chest in the living room and twinkles away ... with the cats ( 3 .. yes 3 cats) my decorating styles have changed drastically.
As a matter of fact, I might decorate the cats and just let them run around the house looking jolly :)

I can imagine how warm and 'Christmasy' your home must feel right now. You make everything beautiful. I look forward to your next post.

Lovely Xmas atmosphere you're creating. Our tree is still in the box. Slowly slowly

Jo, I love the thought of the cats sleeping while you enjoy decorating for Christmas. It will be so sweet when you get it finished. I finally got done today. Except for polishing my silver. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Magic, pure magic!
Here also, little by little the house transforms. I am sooo happy to be married to a romantic Brit who enjoys all about Christmas. Soon, he will be leaving for the Christmas run 'up North' to the family.
I hope you will show more of your lovely decorations, so lovely!
