Iced - Over

If given the option, I would have chosen snow.
Soft, white flakes blanketing the ground.
Instead, we are covered in ice.
Trees, houses, vehicles, bird-feeders.
No snowballs today.

Your photos are the most wonderful. I love visiting your blog. Here in Illinois ice as well and a blanket of snow over it this am. Bitter bitter cold but our little grain bin house is cozy and like you, my soups and stews are simple and that much more welcome. Stay safe and warm.

Jo, though yours looks pretty, I detest ice storms.

ice can be beautiful but it can also be very dangerous. I like looking at it on your blog, thank you... that way I stay safe. I hope you do, too.

Wow from me too. I've never seen ice like that. You took some wonderful photos!

Beautiful pictures of a treacherous situation. Thanks for the lovely shots and do hope you did not venture out in that except for your pictures. :-)

You are in an ice storm! It sure is pretty but I remember what it's like. We were without power for five days a few years ago because of an ice storm like that. Everything quiet and still except for the cracking and popping of limbs breaking and falling. It is so beautiful around your place, even in an ice storm.

At least you found some beauty in it. We're enjoying our snow here.

Ice makes beautiful photo ops.

But driving can be dangerous.

And hope you keep your power.

Warm gentle hugs,

The ice is so beautiful but so deadly too. Lots of accidents this year up here in the north. Love your home at this time of year.
