The Fairest Month

 "Mine is the Month of Roses; yes, and mine
The Month of Marriages! All pleasant sights
And scents, the fragrance of the blossoming vine,
The foliage of the valleys and the heights.
Mine are the longest days, the loveliest nights;
The mower's scythe makes music to my ear;
I am the mother of all dear delights;
I am the fairest daughter of the year."

~  Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

That is so pretty, and I love the poem. May has always been my favorite month but goodness, we had a strange month of May. Guess I will have to move my favorite to June. :) We are supposed to have cooler, less humid days, a few anyway, starting after today.

What a lovely poem. I don't think I've heard it before.

The statue is so wonderful with the flowers in front of it. The long wall is beautiful. I didn't mention that Oliver is just the greatest as seen in your next blog.
