The Lilies are in bloom.
Their colors are a delight, their scent, heavenly.

The Lily

The modest Rose puts forth a thorn,
The humble sheep a threat'ning horn:
While the Lily white shall in love delight,
Nor a thorn nor a threat stain her beauty bright.
William Blake

I need to plant some of those. I only have the Stella D'Oro kind, but I certainly would love some of those.

So many beautiful lilies and a lovely little poem. I always have too many lily beetles to have nice lilies.

What a fantastic collection and all so pretty. They are very stately plants although they come with a warning: the pollen is very poisonous to cats!

Stella and Liz, thank you for alerting me to this fact of them being poisonous to cats, I need to be extra careful they don't venture in the area where the lilies are planted.

They are all so beautiful. Lilies can really wake up a garden.
