A Simple Life

To find the universal elements enough;
to find the air and the water exhilarating;
to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter;
to be thrilled by the stars at night;
to be elated over a bird’s nest or a wildflower in spring —
these are some of the rewards of the simple life.

~ John Burroughs

I really like the writing. Being elated to find a bird's nest. I am playing your music to my sixth grade class right now who are suppose to be writing for 20 minutes.

A lovely poem from Burroughs, and I've always had the feeling that my own family never "got it" this way... but I have a dear friend who does, and that's enough.

We shall soon have the bluebells here too. They are so late this year, but they are coming...

There are days when that just rings so true , when you are able to be in those moments so completely and that is indeed so very exhilarating and fullfilling .
