The first snowdrops dangle from green stems.
A sweet scent, like a hundred daffodils blooming in a distant wood, perfumes the air.
Green blades cut through dark earth.
Buds open on bare branches.
Wind rattles the windows.
Rain splashes against the panes.
The promise of spring stirs my heart.

XOXOXO
Your daffodils are so early, over here we just see a few leaves coming out.
They are very early, aren't they. Must be lovely to see the daffodils again. Can't wait to see ours. This winter has been hard so far!
When I return home after two weeks in sunny Florida, I'll go looking for some signs of spring. They should be there, if not in the same profusion as yours. :-)
It warms the heart to see them Jo.
Jealous!! Mine are only peeking out and they are on the South side of the house. It won't be long now.
It is cold in N. Florida today, I keep turning the heat up! The Daffodils are lovely!
Beautiful post, Jo! Nothing blooming around here yet. Could be because there aren't many bulbs in the ground.:-( It would help if I planted some.
In a couple of months we might see what you are seeing right now. The seasons are amazing and the differences of climate in the states is also interesting to see.
Oh Jo, so beautiful !! I love those flowers.43 more days till the offical Spring...but we know that means any kind of weather still. xoxo,Susie
Lovely photograph, they are such an inspiration those daffs aren't they, a sign of hope.
Ours are peeping through but I hope they take their time. We had snow flurries today again & I'd hate them to get spoilt!
Oh my goodness! Lovely! It will be May before we see a bloom.
"Daffodils, that come before the swallow dares..."
I actually came across that quote while reading Shakespeare's A Winter Tale over the weekend. What a delight to suddenly encounter it unexpectedly in context...so different than simply hearing it quoted.
Our daffodils are still just green spears, but I did see two tiny purple crocuses during yesterday morning's walk.
Blessings,
Fiordelisa
Oh how pretty - our winter doesn't really get going to March and April! We are greatly i need of snow for moisture!
SO pretty! Our snow has melted and we are glad to see it go for now. I saw where we both posted the same commercial as a favorite. Isn't that something? Loved it and every time I see it I could cry also.
