Knee Deep In June

"Tell you what I like the best --
'Long about knee-deep in June,
'Bout the time strawberries melts
On the vine, -- some afternoon
Like to jes' git out and rest,
And not work at nothin' else!"

~ James Witcomb Riley : Knee Deep in June

Here, most of Blighty is up to its a*** in rain! It's a good job we're a nation of drinkers! We need something to get through the endless rain. We've also had incredible storms, floods and people have been rescued by the RAF!

That picture exudes serenity, Jo. And you didn't mention it, but June is busting out all over! :-)

I love knee deep in June. You have some of the most inviting settings. They seem to say REST awhile you'll be served shortly.

I wanted to tell you one of the technicians doing my Radation therapy is from Manchester England. I just found this out when she told me she was going home for vacation. I told her it was a shame she missed the 60th celebration of the Queen. She the tech. is probably in her late 50's. A very nice lady.

Jo, Is there anything more perfect than June in Tennessee?! I was outside last night being mesmerized by fireflies and trying my best to take a video of them, but to no avail. One must experience it in person. The photo is so lovely, so June.

Irritatingly we haven't quite got to this in England yet apart from two wonderful weeks in May when the sun shone continuously. My flowers are trying so hard and they will win against the strong winds and rain. They will, they will, they will!
See my Blog. I have news.

ps can I copy your picture of the signpost from England to Tennessee for my new Blog?

You are truly gifted.

The artful way you have of arranging your photographs...
The words & music that you select to put with them...
All go together in a seamless blend of perfection.

Thank you for taking the time to do all of this and share it with others.

Your blog is such a bright spot in my day.

Blessings to You and Yours.

In Him,
Grace

Beautiful & inviting.....I think I'll try that - "gittin' out and restin').

BTW, I made & shared the 7-Up Cake at our Ladies' Bible study yesterday morning. I had to come home and make 3 copies of the recipe. Sooooooo good!

I do hope that my 18 inch rose of sharon grow to be as beautiful as your. I always, too, enjoy your poetry. Such lovely flowers in your garden, putting on quite a show, aren't they?
