Color Comes To Town

I know Spring is on its way when the Redbud trees start giving out beautiful pink buds.
It is hard to express adequately the miracle of a tree that had branches so bare all through winter suddenly go from stark brown to magenta.

But there she is again, emerging from her own winter of storms, freeze, winds, drought and still standing, still surviving, still blooming, still giving.

"For winter's rains and ruins are over,
And all the season of snows and sins;
The days dividing lover and lover,
The light that loses, the night that wins;
And time remembered is grief forgotten,
And frosts are slain and flowers begotten,
And in green underwoodand cover
Blossom by blossom the spring begins."

~ Algernon Charles Swinburne, Atalanta in Calydon

Wow, those are pretty. I'm pretty sure we don't have those in Minnesota.

How beautiful! Just the antidote for a sniffly, miserable late winter day!

Can't believe you have redbuds already. Isn't that a good month early?

Beautiful! Such a delicate color, and I'm envious, since we are still waiting for the blooms to come out. A cold snap slowed everything down...

Guess my redbud has died. Not a single sign of life. :(

She is beautiful! No redbuds in South Dakota either. I do hope your weather behaves itself and no late frosts! The weather is so unpredictable anymore even the trees are mixed up!

Love those trees. We don't have them here in England so your pictures reminded me of my other home!
'The days dividing lover and lover!' indeed (sigh). Love Swinburne

Can't decide whether I like spring or fall better but I'm tired of gray so I'll take spring's riot of colors which is just starting to show with the daffodils ready to bloom.

We won't see redbuds for another month and a half. Yours is very pretty. I like seeing them with they grow wild in the timbers around here.

I've never heard of Redbuds they look beautiful. Theres something wonderful about blossom breaking not only from the tips of branches but actually out of the old wood too.
