The Robins are in abundance, busily pulling the earthworms from the moist soil, the nests are getting feathered, the Pussy Willow buds are awaking.
Not long now.

It will take a bit longer for Spring to come here, lol!
Beautiful place!
No robins here, yet. No buds, either. Or maybe I haven't been looking closely enough. I know it can't be long now...
We're seeing signs of Spring up here on the Plateau as well. I just hope Winter doesn't stage a late comeback.
Your photos are so beautiful. I have made two trips to Devon, England last June and in Sept.....what lovely land and I think you miss your England. I too am a cat lover and have had several ginger cats. I miss the clotted cream teas and the cows and sheep, but most of all I miss my Giles who lives in Devon.
"O Wind, if Winter comes,
can Spring be far behind?"
Still more soup to be made
and warmth to be spread, but
Spring, indeed, will come.
Oh, don't tease us northerners like that! ha.
I'm getting so excited for spring and it feels like it is just around the corner! We'ver really not had much of a winter here compared to last year at this time with 14 inches on the ground!
of snow!
Hi Jo, I'm afraid that we will have an early spring.. BUT--I'm also remembering the spring of 2007 when we had a horrible freeze AFTER everything budded and bloomed. We lost everything that year... Hope that doesn't happen again this year...
Beautiful GREEN picture...
Hugs,
Betsy
This is my first time to visit your blog, glad I found it. As I write this, the sun is out but cold and actully has the feeling of spring. It will be awhile but I can dream can't I? Enjoyed seeing your blog and will return. Have a great week!! Shannon
love the new header, especially the clock. and beautiful photo, like that gate and I know you are ready for spring
At least you've had a winter...spring is so special to those who've had a time of cold! I've had my AC on way more than my heat this winter! Just doesn't feel right!
Hi, just found your blog. Love your pictures, can wait for spring! Not that we have had all that bad of a winter yet....
Kim
Jo, the wild jonquils are blooming along the roads so I know spring is near. I'll have to go into the woods to see if there are any wild onions for my chicken's eggs. And, I am turning over the compost and adding ammendments. Though our winter has been mild and dry( thank goodness) I can't wait for spring. Beans were delicious.
My candytuft is blooming!!!
I noticed the other day driving home from work a flock of Ravens pulling worms from the soaked grass...yes, we must be getting close to Spring
I'm still waiting for winter to show up! Just a day or two and that's it for us yet.
Sounds like you are way ahead of us. We are in the depths of winter. Deb
Is it possible to start counting the days already? I am obsessed with the thoughts of spring--
Vicki
We know that spring will eventually come, but the waiting is not always easy.
Big Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
And Mother Earth may still surprise us!

I'm looking forward to spring too Jo. It's actually been a very nice winter here so far with warm sunny days. That's supposed to change tonight with rain changing to snow over night and a 60% chance of snow tomorrow. I won't complain as we need the moisture...especially the farmers...I'm not looking forward to the mess though! I hope your day has been a good one so far..enjoy your evening.
Maura :)
