Family Heirloom

You've carried milk from the dairy.
Held daffodils in the springtime.
Lived through Victorian days to Cyber days.
Had a mishap now and then.
Traveled an ocean wide.
Is treasured beyond words .

Your special pitcher/jug is so pretty and I'll bet it looks really pretty with daffodils in it.
The little transferware one is pretty too.

It looks like a Victorian lilac jug. Very pretty. Love the rosy colours on it.

And yet the true value lies in the fact that this object was owned and used by those who gave life to you, and to the generations who gave life to them. A simple thread that binds family through time. Jim

I would not dare use anything that old in case I broke it.

They both are just wonderful. I really like the decoration on the larger one and is what I think of during the Victorian days.

When I was very young I remember seeing such a jug in my grandmother's house - and thinking how ugly it was. Maybe, 60+ years later, I'm changing my mind a bit - but I have to confess the jury's still out! Beautiful to see such a thing again, though, after all these years.
