A Brief Encounter

We've had spells of wonderful cool evenings.
The kind of weather, that begs you to spend the last few hours of the day, enjoying the outdoors.

The days are noticeably shorter, the flowers are sharing their last blooms, the birds are retiring early to their nests.
Mother Nature's way of slowing down.

The mosquitoes however are in abundance.

Yep, here too. The mosquitoes don't seem to mind the cool weather, just the dry stuff. Love that morning glory picture!!

I spent a little time on the front porch tonight, it was pleasant. No mosquitoes though.

I see that your Glories were not a disappointment for you! They are beautiful, perfect shot!

Lovely photos Jo. We had a soft, gentle bit of rain just before lunch time today. The dog and I sat on the porch just to watch the rain come down and enjoy the bit of breeze that came with it.

What a fab sink! We are about to tear out our icky kitchen sink and put in an old farm sink we found last year at the salvage yard. Yours is great and I am betting it's in the potting shed.

Yea, here in Andalucia 'tis the same. We sit out whenever possible of an evening, savouring the last drop of summer. And the damn Mozzies persist while others retire to the background! The crickets etc are still noisy here though.....so maybe a bit of life left in the summer yet.

I've been admiring your Morning Glory's lately and recently went and bought a packet of seeds so maybe I'll have some of those beauties too!

Yes it's certainly feeling like fall here...at least the temperatures are fall-like. some of the trees are turning yellow but then many of them have died because of the drought. We've had about 3/4" of rain in the last week but that's been it for our area since the middle of summer. It was only 1/4" back then. Hopefully we'll have rain soon and the farmers will be able to breath a sigh of relief. We do have a few mosquitoes after that last rain...the first ones since spring!

I'm loving the cooler temperatures and we have very few mosquitos...probably because it's been so dry. I'm ready for Fall.

Your morning glories do so well on that fence. It gets really cold and they will go away but for now they are beautiful.
