Respite From The Heat

We had rain today, a gentle-falling rain, the kind where you can use an umbrella without fear of it being turned inside out.
If you listened carefully you could hear the trees and flowers, heaving a big sigh of relief, their roots and foliage drinking in every last drop of moisture.

The temperatures fell, and for the first time in several weeks we enjoyed a tolerable 72 degrees.
Oh, how I love days such as this.

I love that quote. I've learned to enjoy all weather. It does no good to try and fight it.

Good Morning Jo!
Don't you just love those temperatures..when you can actually take a nice big breath and feel refreshed. We finally got some rain last week and on the weekend and I enjoyed the break from watering. Now we're back up in the 90's and will ready 98 for the next 3 days. Enjoy your 'cool' while you can as I think our heat may be going your way. Have a wonderful day!

this is a truly beautiful photo. glad you got rain, we are hoping for some today, a chance THEY said. our poor trees, the big ones are drooping, it has been 2 months since we had any and only 2 short ones since the first of the year.

What glorious weather! I know it will only last a day or so; perhaps that is why we appreciate it so much!

Love your birdbath! Mine is far too deep. I had to find a huge rock to add to it before any birds would dare go near it... which makes it more difficult to keep clean...but it's still a great addition to any yard!

Enjoy the temps today...they're only visiting! :)

I love that quote! It is perfect for my neck of the woods. We had rain yesterday, again today, and we continue with temps in the sixties...

May we always dance in the rain and sing aloud, be young at heart. Glad you enjoyed your day.

Love the quote, love the blog, love the photos, and music!!
All you little photos certainly tell a story, they are wonderful!
We are thinking of locating to Tn. From Wi. It is cold here 85% of our lives.
Yes, the soft rain is perfect.. as you stand in the garden and smell the fragrance of lavender, along with many other fragrant flowers..
Thank you for being here.. you made my day!
Come visit me.. ! :=)

Lovely photos and an apt quotation, as always.

Please send the rain this way. We could do with a day or two of gentle showers. Our temperatures are gloriously cooler, too, and it's a delight to be outside in the shade. Thanks be to God!

Hugs!
