Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Hopefully, the hummingbirds will be right behind, they have been a scarce sighting around the feeder.

i saw your rose of Sharon and thought, looks like a hibiscus to me, i googled and it is, R of S is a hardy hibiscus for other climates, it is beautiful, a little different than our tropical ones are

Beautiful! Good bye, spring....hello, summer!
I love the Rose of Sharon. My neighbor has a hedge of them. Around here, though, the flower that ushers in Summer is the Sundrop. They are right on time this year, the first one blooming a couple of days ago.
Lovely poem and photos !
Yup Summer is finally here YIPPY !
So pretty!
Happy Summer! I do hope that those hummers are really right behind the flowers... I am missing mine, too.
Your blossoms are all so beautiful. You have so many wonderful colors and the close up shots are marvelous.
Put the kettle on, Jo, or I
will if you are near to
Brentwood.....Just discovered your blog and
spent a good part of the day
in it being reminded of our
time living in England. You
put me away with your video
of the children singing
"Going Home" and one could
not visit a Cathedral during
Christmas without hearing
"In the Bleak Midwinter"
What dear memories were
conjured...Bless you. The
invitation stands. I make
a mean pot of the brew.
Blessings ~

Happy summer!! :-)
Very pretty flowers:)
When we lived in the old Victorian home in town we had a whole row of Rose Of Sharon on the south side of the house. Here on the farm we don't have any....but maybe next year we'll plant a few. I miss them. Yours are beautiful! Have a great day Jo...
