May Flowers

What could be more relaxing than spending a warm Spring day, planting in the garden.
With the wind in my hair, that's how I spent my entire day today, digging and pulling, arranging and fluffing.
The bicycle got a new basket of flowers, if only I can keep the squirrels from planting their own goodies inside.

"It was the month of May, the month when the foliage of herbs and trees is most freshly green, when buds ripened and blossoms appear in their fragrance and loveliness.

And the month when lovers, subject to the same force which reawakens the plants, feel their hearts open again, recall past trysts and past vows, and moments of tenderness, and yearn for a renewal of the magical awareness which is love."

~ Sir Thomas Malory, La Morte d'Arthur

Love you pictures and the poems. We plan to plant and fluff today.

Aw! the very merry month of May.
If it will stop this rain I want to plant my pots full of petunia.
Your bike planter is so dreamy.

The bike has worked well for you to display the flowers in bloom.

Your bike looks lovely Jo! I just planted mine for the first time since I got the bike back in the fall. I swear I'm going to have a green house one day as the annuals add up to lots of money! Since I'm putting in lots of perennials this year I'm afraid I had to skimp on the annuals but at least we'll have a bit of colour. Enjoy your garden!
