A Gentle Giant

"The tree which moves some to tears of joy,
Is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way.
Some see Nature all ridicule and deformity, and some scarce see
Nature at all.
But to the eyes of the man of imagination, Nature is Imagination itself. "

~ William Blake, 1799, The Letters

What an amazing tree. I thought that was a crocodile curled up underneath it.

Beautiful old tree, Jo.. I love the old trees and was sad to hear today that some stupid Alabama football fan poisoned two beautiful Live Oak trees at his rival school, Auburn University.. Isn't that just the most stupid thing you have ever heard of????

Gads---what is going on in our country????

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

What a magnificent tree Jo. I really love huge old trees; they have witnessed so much history. I do see the pheasant at the roots of the tree. How neat!

It looks like a perfect hiding spot for a squirrel.

Hi Jo, a beautiful tree indeed! Yes , definitely see the pheasant. When hubby brings in firewood, there are many pieces I just hate putting in the stove because of the beauty. Such diversity in nature!

Don't you wonder what the roots of this wonderful old tree grew around that isn't there anymore?
