Dreaming Of A White Christmas

As if by magic, the snow is falling.

The first time in seventeen years since we have had a 'White Christmas' and as the midnight hour approaches, there is stillness and silence all around.

"In the bleak midwinter
Frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron,
Water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow,
Snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter,
Long ago.

~ Christina Rossetti, 1872 ~ A Christmas Carol.

Doesn't look like we will get much of anything here, probably just slick roads?

I hope you get snow - if you want it, that is....

You always pick the perfect words to go with the perfect picture. Merry Christmas Jo.

Merry Christmas, here it is warm and humid, a walk on a sunny beach and prawns for lunch and a hot duck roast for a late dinner. I look forward to reading your blog next year.

I listened to the Carols from Kings yesterday afternoon while I was cooking the mince pies and enjoyed it as much as ever. The quality of the voices in that wonderful place is just great!
Loved your snowy picture and of course those magical words.
Have a snowy day.

Merry Christmas to you!
Enjoy your white Christmas for me too. In my eyes there is nothing more serene and peaceful than snow on Christmas.

I'm so glad for you snow, although I hope there are no accidents because of it.

The Rossetti poem is beautiful.
