Remember When

We met across an ocean , from distant lands, and different cultures.
You said tomato, I said tomahto, we embraced each others differences.
Barely old enough to date, yet young enough to serve in war.
Young parents we traveled through life together, made mistakes, made amends.
Forty years ago today, we pledged our troth " for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health " our lives had just begun.......
