A Brief Encounter

We've had spells of wonderful cool evenings.
The kind of weather, that begs you to spend the last few hours of the day, enjoying the outdoors.

The days are noticeably shorter, the flowers are sharing their last blooms, the birds are retiring early to their nests.
Mother Nature's way of slowing down.

The mosquitoes however are in abundance.

The Morning Glories say 'hello', and by late afternoon are waving 'farewell'.

Hi Jo, Yes---Autumn is coming (even though we had a couple of very hot days earlier this week). There is actually some COLOR up here on the plateau... I think it's because it's been so dry...

Love Morning Glorys... Too bad they don't bloom all day long...

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

Here, too (cool nights). I MUST get the two quart-sized asters I bought recently into the ground. The blue of YOUR flowers here reminded me.

bzz bzzzzzzz! We don't seem to have had any mosquitos around lately, and now I'm figuring it's because of spells of cold weather, too cold for them. That's coming your way soon!

now you have caused me to covet that sink and the fence. i want one just like both of them. we had a sink like that in our house in KY in 1953, mother put a skirt around it to hide things under. love, love love the fence

It's cool here, also. I'm being stubborn, and refusing to turn the furnace on this early, so this morning the house was down to 62 F. It'll get up to 74 this afternoon, so I'll open up all of the windows, and get the place heated up a bit.

I'm looking forward to Fall, and Winter. We have had a brutally hot Summer, and I'm glad to be shut of it.

Ah, the waning of the summer with it's deep greens, deep shade, and valiant flowers! It's been delightfully cooler here in Virginia, too, and there is a certain pull to be outside to enjoy it!

Hugs!

We are seeing our share of mosquitos now too, which is odd because we've not had them most of the summer--Fall is here and I'm seeing geese everyday now. I love the fall, but not what's next.

Here on the Plateau our nights are definitely cooler, but the days are still hot. Fortunately we don't have too many mosquitoes.
