For The Birds

We are in need of Spring rain. None so far this month.
The birds are happy we have bird baths scattered about the place, they drink, and then wash the dust out of their feathers.

There is quite a lot of nesting activity going on. Feathering and fluffing.

A new coat of paint puts the bird bath in shape for the Summer.

More nesting.

A new coat of paint on the squirrel proof bird feeder.

Looks pretty Jo. I'm waiting for the hummingbirds to come back. They usually are back by April 4th. My other birds aren't eating as much now but I have spied some of their nests. One little chickadee had 8 teeny speckled eggs. I finally got to start watching the Tudors and have a question. Is the man playing Culpepper or something like that, the same lad who played the Polish boy in Under The Tuscan Sun?

Good morning Jo, love your feeders and your birdbath. I wonder if you'll be getting rain over the next week like we are supposed to? Have a great day. Hope your are feeling better by now.

Nothing matches the sound of birds chirping first thing in the morning. We live in a bird sanctuary...lucky us!
Love YOUR bird sanctuaries!

I love the birdies, too! And we just had a drenching rain, but today will be sunny and clear. I'm hoping you will get the rain, much needed in the springtime. Isn't TN usually wet this time of year?

We got rain here in Virginia on Wednesday and we really needed it! I noticed the birds taking a bath in a small puddle at the corner of our driveway, I think they were happy it came too!!

Hope you continue to feel better!!

Hello Jo, we finally got rain...lots of it here in Kansas over the last couple of days. It's great...but all the crab grass in the new veggie garden will be loving it too and grow like crazy. Oh well. LOVE your bird houses feeders and baths...I have one stone bath out and eventually will bring the other out too. It's hot and dry here in Kansas in the summer so they really appreciate it. Have a wonderful weekend! Maura
