Soup's On.

As with much of the nation we are experiencing an Arctic blast of Canadian cold weather.
It's predicted for much of the coming week, with no more than highs in the teens.
Brrrr.

I've made a hearty fifteen bean soup today, chocked full of country ham, celery, onions, tomatoes, carrots, garlic, and chili spice.
Served with a pone of buttermilk cornbread, it's just the ideal comfort food, on a Winter's day.

Come join us for a bowl !

We'll leave the light on for you.

oh my goodness this looks soooooo good.....i need a pot full of this for this week too.

we have all of our usual outside dogs in the house with us...for the last week, and now it looks like another week of living with the dogs...it's not that i dont love em....but.....

thanks for your comment on the sink.....we had no choice but to get a new one, but i do love those farmhouse sinks even tho we went with deep kohler one istead. the farmhouse sink would be so befitting your home.

oh and btw......i keep meaning to take a similar photo as yours in your header....we have similar hardware on our interior doors and i could get a shot that pans out towards the fireplace too.....maybe i'll get a chance ....someday. i do love that pic of yours.

Thank you, I would love to join you, but here in Oz we are planning an outdoor bbq, maybe you would like to come to that.

Looks delish! Was thinking of making a big pot of chick-veg soup myself, but doubt my soup will look as pretty as your. You hubby did a good job on your Christmas gift!

That is a wonderful meal. We got out the bread machine the other day and it has caused us to cook around fresh bread.
The outdoor light is so wonderful. I reminds me of such an enchanted cottage look. I would like to get them for my house, but I don't have such a country look.

It does look delicious. I was going to make soup but the fridge is bare. Plenty of stuff in the cupboards but not what I need for soup.

I need to get to the shops but have been hibernating. Will have to go out tomorrow, sadly.

Enjoy that soup! Just what you need this weather.

Your table is lovely. I'm in Tennessee, too, and had the same idea. Made Chicken Soup last night and will add the recipe to my blog soon. Stay safe and keep warm!!!

Looks like there is snow everywhere at the moment. At least your lights and soup look warm and welcoming.

I was just thinking about how nice it would be to have some bean soup then I read your post... the soup looks great. Are you psychic? Are you single? ;)
