A List Of Goodies.

Happy, happy Christmas,
that can win us back to the delusions of our childish days;
that can recall to the old man the pleasures of his youth;
that can transport the sailor and the traveller,
thousands of miles away,
back to his own fire-side and his quiet home!

~Charles Dickens, The Pickwick Papers, 1836

I've made my Christmas list and checked it twice.

Lots of Christmas Crackers. Check.
Plum Pudding. Check.
Bird's Custard. Check.
Plenty of Yorkshire Gold Tea. Check.

Pickled Onions. Check.

Mince Pies. Check.

Cadbury's Collection Chocolate Biscuits. Check.

Sled: For snow, Christmas Day. Check.
"Timeshare" Oliver kitty,
requested his presence for Christmas Day. Check.

I love your list of goodies. I don't have a list of Canadian things that I would like at Christmas, as my family is German and our house was always dominated by German foods and decorations at the holidays. Being that there is a big German market on in Edinburgh, I can get all the things that remind me of "home."

Great post.

Sounds like you have all the "necessaries" gathered for a wonderful Christmas! C

Jo, I am so impressed--you are either very organised or REALLY looking forward to Christmas! I made my pudding and got the crackers (they run out early) but other than that...

Jo, you are such a Brit! Not one of those things is on my Christmas list, but you know, I think your list is superior to mine!

I really enjoyed your list, all I'd add is a box of Cadbury's Quality Street chocolate and a package of Bisto!
Thanks for memories of my childhood.
Sunny :)

Yum---wonder if the Christmas Cadbury candy is as good as the EASTER ones???? I'll bet they are!!!!

Love the old sled, Jo... And seeing that kitty in the basket is priceless.

Great post. Thanks!!!

It looks as if you're ready for Christmas. Are all those English goodies difficult to get over here?

Donna: We would have a good time, lots of tea and biscuits :)

PurestGreen: We seem to have a lot of similar "wants" on our lists. Things we were raised with, and hold lots of memories. German traditions, like English have deep roots.

Stickhorsecowgirls: Isn't it funny how you hold onto traditions ?

Prodigal: Just the click of a mouse, and it arrives on the doorstep. Isn't the internet wonderful ;)

DJan: Maybe not, but you probably have a list full of favorite goodies too !

Dave: Kettle's always on, I'll
leave the door ajar for you !

Sunny: Yes, I have the Quality Street also :)
Bisto and Oxo's well I keep them stocked in the cupboard from the local Publix store, they make lovely gravy don't they.

Betsy: Yes, it may be evn better than the Easter eggs ! I once won a competion for writing at school, held by the Cadbury company. We had free Cadbury chocolate for an entire year !!

George; Thank goodness for the internet ! I order from a company in Pennsylvania the shipping is the lowest I have found. It's my treat to myself :)

don't tell me you are going sledding any time soon?!

Yum, well, right, that's it, move over and make room for one more guest--I am inviting myself to your place--simply must pop some more crackers with you (haven't done that in yonks), and must have some Mr. Kipling's mince pies as well as the custard and plum pudd. YUMMM. Here, all I have is the Yorkshire Gold TEa!!

And what company is that you order from again? What plum pudd do you recommend ordering? I'd love one.

Ooooh, Yorkshire is my fave tea. And a kitty in a basket, even better. Cheers!
