Have A Seat.

It seems every Christmas I spend most of my shopping days browsing the antique stores.
I like to buy gifts according to my own likes and dislikes, so it only seems natural that I tend to buy antique dishes, or unusual pieces as gifts.
It also gives me the opportunity to look around the shops and treat myself to a little treasure or two.

Today, whilst shopping with my daughter, we came across this wonderful old chair.
At first glance it appears to have belonged in a rectory of sorts, maybe even an old Manor House.
I'm not sure of the wood, possibly maple, or poplar.

I was smitten on impact, and proud to announce it has found a new "forever home".

What a treasure. Will you keep the fabric? It really does so much for the chair. Lucky find...good for you.
Cheers for a wonderful 2010!

Wow Jo.... That's incredible. I LOVE it. I can see why you love it so much. I'm not sure I'd ever want to 'sit' in it though... It's too pretty for that!!!! ha ha

Happy New Year!!!! (By the way, I got Susan Boyle's new CD for Christmas. WOW!!!!! What a voice!)

Hugs,
Betsy

You and I would be dangerous together...I love shopping in antique stores too.
I filled up our Victorian house but when we built our log home, I had to switch gears a bit, and sell alot of them. We still have some things in storage and I still hope to have a little antique store of my own in the next few years....
Love that chair!
