Remember When....

Today marks one of those milestones in life that has taken an entire lifetime to accomplish.
Today is The First Sergeant's 60th birthday, sshhh we have to keep it a secret !
He's excited, because today we officially retire from the military.
Thirty eight years of military service to his country, a proud warrior, a Bronze Star recipient, and as all career soldiers know, they never really retire....

I'm dedicating this post to My First Sergeant.
Throughout your career you have displayed exemplary leadership and unparallelled dedication .
Triumphed over the hardships, embraced the opportunities, and celebrated the achievements.
You're my Knight in Shining Armour.
Hooah !

P.S. ( Don't forget to wear your uniform for me, every once in awhile ;)

Well let me be the first to congratulate you both on your husband's 60th birthday. May there be many more. The song was lovely and appropriate. Have a great day together.
Blessings, Star

Congrats to him on his retirement and Happy Birthday too.
As a military child, I also know that the entire family sacrifices for the one that is in the military, sometimes having to relocate and start their lives over in new places...so you deserve a high five too for your devotion and assistance in helping him serve his country too!

It's late, almost midnight here in middle Tennessee, but before we lock the doors, and blow out the candles, The First Sergeant and I want to thank each and everyone of you, for your kind comments and well wishes. They truly mean a lot to us. We went to the base and recieved our retirement I.D's we ran into soldiers who had served in combat with my husband, it made the day special. All those handshakes, and thank-you's for a job well done.
God Bless each and every one of you.
Hugs,
Jo

Congratulations to the First Sergeant, and to you. Your blog today brings back memories for myself and my Madeline. We,ve been married 46 years and "Remember When" by Alan Jackson is a fitting look back over all the memories. I feel so sory for those who do not make it this far, for one reason or another. Luck and Blessings to you both.
