Gone But Not Forgotten...

Remember a few days ago, I posted a picture of mama Carolina Wren feeding her babies ?

Today, they felt the wind beneath their wings.

Sadly not the best pictures, but just in time to wave goodbye.....

Oh, such a bittersweet thing to watch! And how lovely to be a part of something so incredible.

I know how you feel Jo... When our baby Bluebirds fledged I was so sad... BUT--they are still around. In fact, I took some pictures today of them. They will never be forgotten!!!

Cute pictures of the wren.
Hugs,
Betsy

They should stay around, some any way. We have a pair that sing and hunt bugs all around the back of the house.

blushing rose: I have listened to those babies squeal each time mom brought in food, for the past two weeks, it's now silent :(

Pastor Sharon: Yes, you are correct, at least I was fortunate to have them for two weeks.

Sunny: Thank you, I wish I could have taken better pictures, but had to snap these through the window.

Betsy: I know how you felt... I read somewhere that Carolina Wrens choose a place to live, and stay their all of their life, I hope this is true.

Carol: you are 100% correct my dear. Just stewards of the moment, how lovely is that ?

Benny and Patsy: well then this would be lovely, I may have permanent tenants :)

Their parents will keep feeding them for a while. My hummers are back fighting at the feeder after tending their nests for a spell.

Carolina Wrens are my favorite little bird...Ours have raised families here for almost 20 years now...I know it's not the original birds, but they trace the same paths through the arbors and railings around the house and have the same habits of sleeping on the porch blinds at night!

Donna: I have finally had two different hummingbirds visit daily.
A far cry from the twenty or so the year before. Didn't know if the parents would still feed their young, once they have left the nest. Thanks for telling me.

Wanda: That's encouraging news...
I shall do a little work on the birdhouses they have raised their young in, and hopefully they return.

Gaston Studio: If it wasn't for the fact I had my camera in reach, they would have left without a goodbye also ;0

Andora: I suppose we should be thankful to have enjoyed them for the time we did... We do seem to become attached.

They will be back, I'm sure. We all return home for a visit, don't we? Speaking of which, did you get my last email?
Blessings, Star

I love to see birds in my garden. These are beautiful. Unfortunately my cat keeps them at bay!
