Summer Showers...

Rain in Summer..
How beautiful is the rain!
After the dust and the heat,
In the broad and fiery street,
In the narrow lane,
How beautiful is the rain!

~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The evening skies are still heavy with rain clouds.

It's difficult to garden in the rain, so I spend time gazing at the flowers and dreaming .......

Watching the Clematis soaking up a Summer shower...

Dreaming how the rock fence would look planted in English flowers...

Imagining a quaint thatched cottage awaiting it's visitors......

Shucks, Jo... We didn't get much rain today... It sprinkled and threatened to rain most of the day--but we never did get anything heavy.. Guess it went all around us this time!!!!! Oh Well!!!

Love the pictures --especially the Clematis.

Hugs,
Betsy

You are so lucky to have rain in summer. We get nothing but drought for over 3 months and then, when it rains for thefirst time, the ground just soaks it up.

Jo, I love the garden statue and have you ever noticed HOW Tennessee has those rock walls everywhere? Lovely morning tour!

As a fellow Brit I thought that I would never say this... I miss the rain! Send some over to California. I can't remember the last time it rained here. Maybe 2 months ago for about a minute! A beautiful post. You have me thinking about planting Clematis now

Such calming and lovely photos. All this rain we've had in TN this year has made lots of flowers bloom, plants grow, and grass mowed.
